Winter Break in Las Vegas Last week we spent some time in Las Vegas before Christmas. I posted up a few photos from our short visit here.
If I don't do another blog entry before the new year (which I most likely won't), I want to thanks everyone who visited my blog this year and want to wish everyone a very Happy 2009! yam [11:23 AM

Winter Break Woops, I forgot all about updating my blog since I made it through NaBloPoMo in November. I've been really busy with work, parties, Matthew's school and sports activities and other holiday events (shopping, eating, cooking, sending Christmas cards, gift wrapping, and more eating). But now I'm off work for two whole weeks and really looking forward to it! So, I'm not sure how much blogging I'm going to be doing before the New Year. But I will try.
So, if I don't update before then, I hope you all have a Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year! yam [10:04 PM

Yambiguity's Kingdom! Wow, look at what happened to me! I had to pull a lot of strings to get this done and it's going to be a really big deal. I know a certain someone who is going to be really happy about this news! *wink* yam [7:40 PM

Winter Band Concert Matthew's first trumpet performance in the Middle School beginning band at the Winter Concert, playing the song "Mary Ann". For the past 3(?) years he's been playing the clarinet, and now in the 6th grade he changed to the trumpet. I'm surprised at how fast he picked up a new instrument, although he's no Louis Armstrong. yam [9:15 AM

Here's an e-mail recipe that I received at work today. Perform at your own risk!
Subject: Best Darn Cookies Recipe
Hello Everyone....
As you all know this is the time of year I like to share my Christmas cookie recipe with everyone....I am sending this now so all of you can get an early start on your baking. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Cheers....and Merry Christmas
Jose Cuervo Christmas Cookies
1 cup of water 1 tsp baking soda 1 cup of sugar 1 tsp salt 1 cup of brown sugar 1 cup lemon juice 4 large eggs 1 cup nuts 2 cups of dried fruit 1 bottle Jose Cuervo Tequila
Sample 1 level cup of the Cuervo to check the quality. Take a large bowl, check the Cuervo again, to be sure it is still of the highest quality, pour another level cup and drink.
Turn on the electric mixer. Beat one cup of butter in a large fluffy bowl. Remove butter paper wrapper from bowl.
Add one teaspoon of sugar..Beat again. At this point it's best to make sure the Cuervo is still OK, try another levelel cup ..just in case.
Turn off the mixerer thingy. Break 2 eggs and add to the bowl and chuck in the cup of dried fruits, Pick the frigging fruit off floor... Mix on the turner. If the fried druit gets stuck in the beaterers just pry it loose with a drewscriver. Sample the Cuervo to check for tonsisticity.
Next, sift two cups of salt, or something. Who giveshzasheet. Check the Jose Cuervo. Now shift the lemon juice and strain your nuts. Add one table. Add a spoon of sugar, or somefink. Whatever you can find. Greash the oven.
Turn the cake tin 360 degrees and try not to fall over. Don't forget to beat off the turner. Finally, throw the bowl through the window, finish the Cose Juervo and make sure to put the stove in the dishwasher.
Linked Heh, my blog made it into some online mag called "Paste" when they were doing a review of blogs A-Z taking part in NaBloPoMo, and of course, I made the Y category. yam [8:48 PM

City Of Angels Another stop on Saturday's walkabout downtown Los Angeles took us to the Cathedral Of Our Lady Of The Angels. I believe this is the center of the Catholic community in Los Angeles. It was quite fascinating to see such a huge structure, but I have to say that the architecture is rather odd to me, reminiscent of a post-modern, post nuclear prison. Here are the photos from our visit. yam [9:14 PM
